As the nephew of King Othenal, Merric received numerous opportunities to climb the ranks of the Andelean military. However, as a low ranking officer, Merric acted against the orders of his commanding officer to protect an endangered group of citizens. Angering his commanding office, Merric was reprimanded and quickly discharged. However, his valor gained the attention of a well-known paladin Draken, who then took him under his tutelage. Merric assisted Draken in numerous adventures and his continuous bravery won the recognition of many. Merric's final encounter with Draken foreshadowed the treachery he would later face. Merric, cousin of Lenna, is an ancestor to Terrel, Ginelle, Gabe, Dean, Dom, and Sori (characters of Myrrom Galaxy: Oath). Merric's powers were passed on to Oath by the Spirit of Peace.
